No Knit & Natter Today

I just had a call from Tony, the Practice Manager at Alnwick Medical Group to let me know that this afternoon’s group is cancelled. He asked me to put something on the blog.

As they haven’t received full guidelines on how the surgery should respond to latest Coronavirus guidelines it was decided to err on the side of caution and try to let everyone know not to turn up.

I did wonder if this would happen. It seems sensible to play safe. In the meantime it is up to all of us to follow the guidelines to protect ourselves and others.

It’s also important to keep a sense of perspective. There’s a lot of misinformation on social media so let’s stick to reliable sources like the NHS…and keep calm!

Hopefully normality will return before long. I’ll be staying at home practising my brioche knitting instead this afternoon.

Has the Coronavirus outbreak made you change your plans today?

I live in Northumberland, within sight of the sea and spend my time knitting, crocheting, sewing and trying my hand at different crafts. There's usually a story to share about the things I make.

  1. Your brioche looks great!
My son’s school has been cancelled for up to 2 weeks and they are working on a distance learning plan. The first presumptive case has hit the school community and they are erring on the side of caution.

  2. What a shame, but I can understand why in a doctors surgery in which there will be poorly people. Not changed my plans for today, biscuits baked this morning , followed by some cleaning and yes I suppose more bleach was used that normal just in case. I shall knit and read this afternoon.

    1. It was the right decision. There are group members who’d be classed as vulnerable too. Sounds like you’d never run out of things to do if you self isolate. I think I’d manage to keep busy too!

  3. Yes, my holiday is cancelled! But better all round than going in current circumstances. Scone suggestion: First Class Food café at Holy Island Post Office! Norma x

  4. My plans haven’t changed for today, but I’m making preparations for next week when I think they will change. I just need to get an extra gallon of milk and some produce.
